Brazil recorded, in 24 hours, 8,195 cases and 62 deaths from covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin released by the Ministry of Health. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 30,953,579 cases and 666,453 deaths from the disease.
The bulletin indicates that 29,944,584 people have recovered from the disease, representing 96.7% of those infected with covid-19. There are still 342,541 cases under follow-up.
According to the ministry, the bulletin does not provide updated data from the Federal District and the states of Ceará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Paraíba, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Tocantins. Mato Grosso do Sul did not update the number of deaths. These data were not updated because the ministry did not receive data from the state health departments before the bulletin was released.
States
São Paulo is the state with the highest number of cases and deaths from covid-19, with 5,502,590 and 169,234, respectively. In terms of the number of cases, the Southeast state is followed by Minas Gerais (3.4 million) and Paraná (2.5 million). The smallest numbers are in Acre (125,975), Roraima (155,745) and Amapá (160,421).
Among deaths, the second and third state with the highest number of deaths are Rio de Janeiro (73,797) and Minas Gerais (61,544). The lowest numbers are in Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,134) and Roraima (2,152).
Vaccination
According to the Ministry of Health, 434.37 million doses of vaccine against covid-19 have been applied so far, with 176.98 million of the first dose, 158.97 million of the second dose and 4.89 million single doses.
The first booster shot was given to 85.5 million people, the second booster shot to 4.28 million and the additional shot to 3.74 million.
