The country has reached 675,350 deaths from Covid-19, the Ministry of Health reported. According to data from this Sunday (17), 55 deaths and 10,852 positive diagnoses of the disease were confirmed, totaling 33,301,118 people infected with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 is 1,069,375. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that were neither discharged nor progressed to death.
There are still 3,206 deaths under investigation. Deaths under investigation occur due to the fact that there are cases in which the patient died, but the investigation of the cause to have been the covid-19 is still in progress.
Up until today, 31,556,393 people have recovered from Covid-19, according to the ministry. The number corresponds to 94% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
States
According to the government’s balance sheet, at the top of the ranking of states with the most deaths from covid-19 recorded so far are São Paulo (172,057), Rio of January (74,461), Minas Gerais (62,541), Paraná (44,219) and Rio Grande do Sul (40,291).
The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the pandemic are Acre (2,009), Amapá (2,149), Roraima (2,154), Tocantins (4,172) and Sergipe (6,387).
Vaccination
The Ministry of Health’s vaccinometer panel points out that a total of 457,767,790 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied in the country, since the beginning of the immunization campaign. Of these, 177.7 million as a first dose, 158.4 million as a second and 4.9 million as a single dose. The booster dose has already been given to 98 million people and the second extra dose or fourth dose to 13.6 million.
