In the last 24 hours, 177,027 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus were recorded, in addition to 1,189 deaths associated with complications due to covid-19.
With the data update, the total number of people who have caught covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic reached 26,776,620. Yesterday, the information panel of the Ministry of Health accounted for 26,599,593 accumulated cases.
The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 is 3,041,150. The term is used to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that have not been discharged or reported death.
With the deaths added to the statistics, the total number of people who did not resist the covid-19 reached 633,810. Yesterday, the pandemic information system marked 632,621 deaths.
There are still 3,179 deaths under investigation – which occur when there are cases in which the patient has died, but the investigation if the cause was covid-19 still requires further tests and procedures.
To date, 23,101,660 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to 86.3% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
The information is in the daily balance sheet of the Ministry of Health, released this Tuesday (8). It consolidates the information sent by municipal and state health departments on cases and deaths associated with covid-19.
The numbers, in general, are lower on Sundays and Mondays and also on the days following holidays due to the reduction of teams to feed the data. On Tuesdays and two days after holidays, there are generally more records due to the accumulation of data from previous days.
States
According to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Health, at the top of the ranking of states with the most deaths from covid-19 are São Paulo (160,060), Rio de Janeiro (70,323), Minas Gerais (57,950), Paraná (41,529) and Rio Grande do Sul. (37,290).
The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the pandemic are Acre (1,905), Amapá (2,064), Roraima (2,105), Tocantins (4,024) and Sergipe (6,141).
Vaccination
Until this Tuesday (8), 367.2 million doses were applied, 167.7 million with the 1st dose and 153.3 million with the 2nd dose or single dose. Another 42.5 million have already received the booster dose.
