Covid-19: Bolivia reported 5,423 new cases and continues an accelerated decline in positives

The de-escalation of positive cases of Covid-19 continues in Bolivia. This last Friday of January 2022, 5,423 new cases were reported, 1,164 fewer positives, than the previous day (6,587). The descent began eight days ago.

But not only has positivity been lower in recent days, but the number of deaths has also decreased. On this day, 41 deaths were reported, nine less than yesterday (50), Encouraging figures for the sectors that request the suspension of the restrictions due to the pandemic.

With these new records, the total accumulated cases is 847,180 infected and 20,865 deceased because of the virus, according to the report from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

As for those recovered, it was reported that 5,969 people defeated the virus and that 149,715 are active cases, so it is expected that this weekend the figure of the total accumulated will increase.

The distribution of positive cases by department is as follows: La Paz, with 1,496, followed by Cochabamba (1,202), Santa Cruz (1,200), Tarija (399), Chuquisaca (345), Potosí (327), Oruro (249), Pando (148) and Beni (57).
