Covid-19 balance: there are 7,575 new cases, 18 deaths and a national positivity of 11.59%

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported 7,575 new Covid-19 infections this Sunday, reaching a national positivity of 11.59%. As for active cases, these reach 36,959, the highest figure in 73 days, when 37,204 were reported on March 24.

The regions with the highest number of active cases are: Metropolitan (19,931), Valparaíso (4,907) and Bío Bío (2,512).

“The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 10% and 60% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively,” they pointed out from the Minsal.

The registration of the 7,575 new cases were 33% by antigen test, 45% by the Active Case Search (BAC) and 23% of the people notified do not present symptoms.

The health authorities indicated that positivity at the national level reached 11.59% on Wednesday, averaging 11.50% last week.

The regions with the highest figures are Metropolitan (15.72%), Valparaíso (14.71%) and O’Higgins (12.16%).

These numbers are registered through the procedure of 43,697 PCR tests, added to the 22,490 antigen tests.

ICU and deceased

Regarding the occupation of ICU beds, the national level reaches 85%. Of a total of 2,029 critical beds in the health network, 307 are available.

There are 154 people hospitalized for coronavirus, of which 83 are in serious condition and connected to mechanical ventilation (53.90%).

The Department of Statistics and Health Information (Deis) reported the death of 18 people as a result of Covid-19. Our country reaches a total of 57,973 deaths.
