The Ministry of Health delivered this Thursday a new balance of the Covid-19 situation in Chile, in a day marked by 2,640 new cases, 33 deaths and a national positivity of 3.22%.
Of the new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, 1,716 correspond to symptomatic people, 663 do not present symptoms and 261 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified. The total number of people who have been diagnosed in the country reaches 1,735,187. Of this total, 14,715 patients are in the active stage, while the recovered cases are 1,678,015.
With the 33 deaths reported by the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), the total number of deaths rises to 38,049 in the country.
To date, 624 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units (ICU), of which 527 are on mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 191 critical beds available.
The results of 79,950 PCR tests and antigen tests were carried out and reported, reaching a total of 24,773,291 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 3.22% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 3%.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Aysén, Los Ríos, Valparaíso and Coquimbo. Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Atacama, Los Ríos and Biobío regions.
