Covid-19 Balance: Minsal reports 5,026 new cases and 23 deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsal) communicated this Saturday the last report of 2022 on the situation of Covid-19 in our country. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours there have been 5,026 new cases and a total of 16,149 assets.

Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 22,166 tests were taken in the last 24 hours (antigens and PCR), marking a total of 47,695,328 tests so far in the pandemic in our country.

These results show a positivity of 20.10% nationwide during the last 24 hours, while in the Metropolitan region it is 21.26%.

According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Arica and Parinacota, Antofagasta, Tarapacá and O’Higgins. Meanwhile, the Arica and Parinacota region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Atacama, Tarapacá and Antofagasta.

According to the numbers provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours, 23 deaths were reported from causes related to Covid-19. The total number of deaths in our country is 63,172.

Likewise, the Minsal reports that there are 117 people hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 82 remained with mechanical ventilation support. Regarding the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 331 critical beds available throughout Chile.
