The Ministry of Health (Minsal) communicated this Tuesday a new report on the situation of Covid-19 in our country. In this regard, they indicated that during the last 24 hours, 1,250 new cases have been registered, of which 945 correspond to people with symptoms, 47 asymptomatic.
Regarding the diagnostic capacity of Covid-19, 6,916 tests were taken in the last 24 hours (antigens and PCR), marking a total of 48,353,881 tests so far in the pandemic in our country. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 8.64% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 7.4%.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Antofagasta, Magallanes and Biobío.
Meanwhile, the Los Ríos region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Atacama, Ñuble and Biobío.
Other figures
To date, 83 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 70 remain with mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 336 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the Department of Statistics and Health Information (DEIS), in the last 24 hours there were four deaths due to causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 64,106 in the country.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 5,151,881. Of this total, 3,900 patients are in the active stage, considering a five-day isolation from the onset of symptoms or from taking the test, according to the Opening phase criteria. The recovered cases are 5,063,402.
