Court sentenced seven soldiers

The 1st Trial Court of Miranda decreed sentences between 23 and 25 years in prison against seven former officials of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) for the murder of a 16-year-old boy, reported the Public Ministry.

This situation was denounced by the victim’s mother on November 21, 2016, before the Miranda 10th Prosecutor’s Office. Two days before, military personnel from the Pedro Zaraza Caribbean Battalion entered the victim’s home in the Acevedo municipality (Miranda). and they took him under arrest to a military base.

Subsequently, those involved informed the parent that her son was transferred to the Caucagua hospital, after presenting seizures and epilepsy. Once at the scene, the woman was notified by the doctors that her son arrived without vital signs.

Given this fact, the Army officials were arrested on November 26, 2016 by order of the 1st Control Court of Miranda. They were charged with qualified intentional homicide for futile motives in a degree of corresponding complicity, among others.
