The Arauco Guarantee Court decreed the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the two ex-carabineros accused of stealing trucks. Both were formalized for two crimes of robbery with intimidation.
The Public Ministry charged that Diony Cuevas Rebolledo Y Christian Aburto Ojeda they committed one of those crimes in September 2022, while the other on October 19. This, when they belonged to Carabineros. In addition, the court established an investigation period of three months.

Let’s remember that Carabineros detained both in the commune of Arauco, on October 19. That day, Cuevas and Aburto, dressed in civilian clothes, hitched a driver, who works on the Modernization and Expansion of the Arauco Plant (MAPA) project.
On the way, the subjects threatened the driver with a gun. They stole the truck and abandoned the victim at the north access of the Arauco pulp mill.
Because the truck had a GPS system, Carabineros found the whereabouts of the accused. They were in the Piedra Lisa sector. There, police personnel met a group of strangers who tried to flee in another vehicle. Despite this, the officers managed to arrest him.
Among those detained were Cuevas and Aburto.
The general Cesar Bobadillahead of the Eighth Zone of Carabineros del Biobío, confirmed on October 19 that both would be expelled from the institution.
