The Second Court of Control with Competence in Economic Illicit of the state of Carabobo, headed by Judge Maxgliz Lizarazo, issued arrest warrant No. C2EI-0004-24 against Gilberto Ceballos Medina, who served as president of the Municipal Institute of Environment (IMA) of the Valencia municipality, for the alleged crime of diesel smuggling, in addition to leading a corruption plot in the garbage collection process.
In the procedure carried out by the Bolivarian National Police, three subjects were detained; among whom Óscar Ceballos Medina, brother of the current president of the IMA, stood out.
All those captured confessed and identified Gilberto Ceballos as the head of the fuel trafficking cartel.
These investigations also point towards Ceballos’ predecessor, Santiago Bruzco, who is a fugitive from justice.
