The Specialized Criminal Judge for Organized Crime, Adriana Chamsarián, had not granted the refugee request of Fabián “Pepín” Rodríguez Simón, former adviser to former Argentine President Mauricio Macri.

As a result of this decision, Rodríguez Simón’s defense filed an appeal.

In the last hours, it was learned that the Court of Criminal Appeals of the First Shift ratified the decision of Judge Chamsarián, considering that from the documentation provided “it does not appear that the Judicial Power of his country persecutes him and/or does not It gives you minimal guarantees to defend yourself.”

The last instance to prevent the Uruguayan Justice from dealing with the extradition request is the cassation.

There is an extradition request for Rodríguez Simón from Argentina, accused of pressuring directors of the Indalo Group of businessman Cristóbal López, linked to Kirchnerism, and pressuring the owners of channel C5N, of the same group, under threat of financial drowning.

Rodríguez Simón requested refuge in Uruguay on the understanding that he is the victim of political persecution in his country.
