The Second Court of Control of the Táchira, San Cristóbal extension, decreed arrest warrant against Jonathan Alberto Palacios Castillo, who allegedly integrates the extortion network through the use of news portals, according to file SJ22-P-2025-000027, which we had partial access.
The arrest warrant, issued last Wednesday, is for the alleged commission of extortion crimes, improper revelation of data or personal information and association to commit crimes.
The request to order Palacios Castillo apprehended was made by the National Prosecutor’s Office, from where an investigation for hate crimes is advanced. To this file, the Tachirense farmer Waldo Rujano Mora was incorporated as a victim, a judicial source explained.
In that case, Palacios Castillo dedicated himself to reproducing the publications previously posted by Gustavo Lainet and Gustavo Azócar, where they expose Rujano Mora as a person linked to Colombian crime, a species that the farmer denied at the time.
They presume that there is a connection between Palacios with Azócar and Lainette, to disseminate the series of publications against Rujano Mora. These publications were used by Lainete and Azócar to extort Rujano Mora demanding determining sum in dollars in exchange for “tumbar ” of the portals that these people run, the aforementioned reports.
But for about a month Palacios came into play, who has echoed the aforementioned publications by adding comments.
Palacios was prosecuted for fraud, as reported at the time the attorney general, Tarek William Saab. He was imprisoned in the Penitentiary Center of the West II located in Santa Ana (Táchira) from March 2021 to August 2023.
