Court declares inadmissible complaint by Mayor Sharp for failed fireworks show in Valparaíso

The Valparaíso Guarantee Court declared inadmissible the complaint filed by Mayor Jorge Sharp, for the crime of fraud against fireworks suppliers after the cancellation of the New Year’s fireworks show.

This was stated in the judicial document issued by Judge Mirtza González, since in her opinion the facts reported “are not a criminal offence; in accordance with the provisions of articles 112 and 114 c) of the Criminal Procedure Code”, therefore the complaint filed by the mayor was declared inadmissible.

It should be noted that these legal actions were taken against Piromax Spa and Pirotecnia Spa, suppliers of fireworks that had a three-year expiration date and, therefore, did not comply with the contract for the supply of pyrotechnic material and execution of fire shows. artificial in the new years of the periods 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Who also joined Sharp’s complaint due to the damage to the local economy and tourism in the area, was the mayor Macarena Ripamonti. However, she had better luck since the Viña del Mar Guarantee Court, through Judge María del Pilar Labarca, decided to admit the legal action.
