Since last year, several politicians from Morena, the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and the PRI began to spread their image and name towards the 2027 elections, which will be key to electing 17 governors and 500 federal deputies. Among them is Andrea Chávez, who is accused of using health care vehicles to promote herself and handing out cups with her photo and name at events where coffee is offered. On several occasions, the senator has already announced that she is looking to run for governor of Chihuahua.
Other politicians, such as Senator Ruth González, from Morena, are also accused of spreading their image in advance. González, who has expressed his interest in the governorship of San Luis Potosí, distributed backpacks and water tanks with his name or initials “RG” in his state. In addition, she participated in official events with her husband, Ricardo Gallardo, current governor of San Luis Potosí.
Similarly, Cecilia Guadiana, another Morenista, used buses with her face and promotional material to offer health services in Coahuila, in an attempt to position herself as a possible candidate for governor of the state.
