SANTO DOMINGO .- The Third Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of this jurisdiction ratified the 30 years in prison, which weighed against a man, who manufactured and marketed the lethal Monday’s drinkwhich caused the death of four people after ingesting it and seven others were poisoned, in events that occurred in 2021.
The Court of this judicial district confirmed the sentence requested by the attorney of the Court of Appeal, Elpidio Collado, on behalf of the Public Ministryagainst the convicted Carlos Alberto Pérez Almonte, ordering the continuation of compliance with the sentence at the Najayo Hombres Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in the San Cristóbal province.
In the file implemented by the Santo Domingo Oeste Prosecutor’s Office It is believed that the accused manufactured these informal drinks and without any criteria of responsibility for the production of these products and without the license granted by the Ministry of Public Health to produce beverages for human consumption.
Due to the consumption of said adulterated drink, the lady lost her life. María Magdalena Montero Canario, Dennis Montero, Jennifer Ramírez Montero, and Ruth Esther Ortega Ramírez.
While Josefina Suero, Anyery Altagracia Alejo Sánchez, Juan Luis de la Rosa Polanco, Yeimy Montero, Loredys Montero, Jean Carlos Mejía and Darwin Leudy Correa Villapresented severe symptoms of intoxication.

The Third Criminal Chamber confirmed the conviction for the violation of the General Health Law No. 42-01 and Law No. 17-19 for the Eradication of Illicit Trade, Smuggling and Counterfeiting of Regulated Productsas well as articles 301 and 302 of the Dominican Penal Code.
