Agents of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) arrested a couple at the Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital and seized 192 cartridges of different calibers.
The information was aired on the PNB’s social networks, where it is specified that the batch of bullets included 71 cartridges for 7.62X51 light automatic rifles and 121 .22 caliber ammunition.
From other sources we learned that the detainees were identified as Karen Alejandra Muñoz Pérez and Diony Daniel Colmenares Philips, whose arrest was notified to the 24th prosecutor of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas, Yaneth Espinoza.
We also learned that the woman went to the Concepción Palacios Maternity Hospital, located on San Martín Avenue, Caracas, where she was hospitalized. She arrived with a bag in which she had kept the cartridges.
From the aforementioned health center, the woman called her partner Diony Daniel, who went to the maternity ward and received the bag from the woman, a situation that the police officers were awaiting to proceed with her arrest, the sources explained.
The couple lives in El Guarataro, a sector neighbouring the Maternity Hospital. The PNB is investigating the origin of the cartridges and their destination.
