Brazil recorded 2,909 new cases of covid-19 and 15 deaths in 24 hours. The data are in the daily update of the Ministry of Health.
With the new information released today, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus during the pandemic amounts to 34,470,776.
The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 stands at 261,466. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that were not discharged and did not result in death.
With today’s numbers, the total number of deaths has reached 684,369 since the beginning of the pandemic. There are still 3,241 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation if the cause was covid-19 still requires additional tests and procedures.
The total number of people recovered from the disease reached 33,524,941, which corresponds to 97.2% of the total infected.
In today’s balance sheet, several federation units did not update the data: Federal District, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul (did not update the number of deaths), Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Pernambuco and Tocantins.
