The accusation presented against the presidential candidate of Avanza País, Joseph Williamsprovoked the statement of the political party, which denounced “a political strategy aimed at generating confusion and misinformation.”
Citizen Carlos Alonso Javier Guevara argued in his appeal that the current congressman failed to comply with his duty to truthfully declare in his resume the information about his income as a parliamentarian in 2024.
In the legislator’s sworn statement, according to Javier, the amount of 187,000 soles is recorded as annual income for his parliamentary work, a figure that differs from those declared by legislators from his own bench who will also participate in the electoral process.
Among these, he points out the reports declared by Adriana Tudela, who is a member of the presidential team led by Williams, in which she records S/426,122 as income received in 2024 as a congressman.
Given this, the political organization responded that these arguments “lack technical support” and that “they do not constitute any of the causes legally provided for in the current electoral regulations.” The Lima Centro 1 Special Electoral Jury must define whether the deletion is appropriate.
