In a statement, the Avanza País party has clarified that “the inadmissibility notified by the National Elections Jury does not constitute a blemish or an exclusion, but only the observation of formal requirements of a rectifiable nature.” The letter specifies that, “specifically, the presentation of the resignations of the previous candidates for the Presidency and Vice Presidency has been requested, which have already been made public knowledge and widely disseminated by the media, as well as the correction of a simple administrative document.”
In its public letter, Avanza País advances that “these observations will be corrected within the established legal period, before noon today (Tuesday, December 23), in accordance with the current electoral regulations, such as Resolution No. 0164 -2025-JNE dated April 14, 2025. In that sense, regional leaders, affiliates, supporters and citizens in general are urged to maintain tranquility and confidence, since the candidacy of the General Williams Zapata remains firm and fully current.”
The statement signed by the national secretary of the organization, Armando Barrantes, reaffirms that “General Williams Zapata,
national hero and Head of Operation Chavín de Huántar, is a professional prepared to combat any enemy of the country, with leadership, trajectory and experience, committed to the defense of the homeland.” Finally, the document states that “yesterday (Williams Zapata) faced the terrorism of the communist left; Today, it is willing to fight with determination, strategy and authority against organized crime, hitmen and transnational criminal organizations that keep our country in anxiety and kidnapped. Avanza País remains firm, respecting the legal framework and trusting in the democratic will of the Peruvian people.”
