The councilors of the Provincial Municipality of Tacna are attending the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which is investigating the alleged irregularities committed in the process of land auction made on February 23, 2022.

This was reported by the manager Sergio Ramos Rios, who indicated that last week all the aldermen were summoned and during this week between Monday and today Thursday they have been summoned at different times and individually. Precisely he has been notified to attend today at 10 o’clock.

They are included as witnesses

He commented that the intention of the Public ministry is to determine the behavior that each one of the aldermen has had in the approval of the norms within the auction process and to define their responsibility. Currently all are summoned as witnesses.

He recalled that of 13 counselors 10 approved the annulment of the auction when it was detected that it was based on repealed regulations of the Superintendency of National Assets (SBN). Then three aldermen: Miguel Escobar, Jose Choque Manuelo and Maria Elena Nina Pomafiled a motion for reconsideration so that the issue is dealt with again in the full council.

Up to two fiscal interventions

The second intervention took place on May 4 following the issuance of the Mayor’s Resolution No. 279-2022 which extended the term for the cancellation of the auctioned land, which allowed the Los Jardines Association to pay for the total of plot 6A, despite the fact that its term had expired.

Ramos told Correo that he will present a document again requesting the executive body of the municipality to report the status of the auction process and the land.
