The councilors argue that the excesses that they have been committing since the capture of Governor Luis Fernando Camacho do not fall within the scope of police functions in accordance with the law.

“CoAs a bench of councilors from the most important city in Bolivia, we want to request the resignation of the commander and deputy commander of the Police. Por constitutional order have to protect the citizen; however, in these five days we have seen a brutal massacre of the people of Santa Cruz, who has to peacefully exercise their right to protest, in this case, demanding the release of the Governor,” Alberti said.
He pointed out that what happened after Camacho’s capture, the only thing that has been seen is the police repression of citizens, injured civilians, and destroyed public and private property.
“We have seen that even municipal property was destroyed by the police officers themselves, Yesterday the lights were being destroyed, which is why we asked for his resignation,” he reiterated.
