Tomorrow the 30-day term expires that the councilors of the Capital Municipality had to respond to the memorial through which the citizens requested, last March, the holding of an open town hall.

This is because the law indicates that any public official who receives a citizen petition has 30 days to respond.

Luis Pinedo, from the Citizen Consultation Movement, explained that the president of the Municipal Council, Abdiel Sandoya, has already publicly stated that this memorial was accepted by the councilors.

Although he said that no formal response has been given, Pinedo explained that through his Twitter account, Sandoya wrote to him to state that “he is a law-abiding man.”

“I remind representative Abdiel Sandoya that tomorrow, Friday, the 30 days will be fulfilled and therefore if they do not respond they will be exposed to habeas data and beyond appearing to be a threat, it is that the Law that he told me on Twitter that He was very respectful of her and that they were going to respond to the request,” he said, reiterating that this open town hall is so that all citizens can participate and talk with their representatives about the concerns they have regarding their efforts and the projects they need within their communities.
