Once again, criticism of one of the bidding processes launched by the Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra arises. The councilor and vice president of the Municipal Council, Lola Terrazas, denounced a alleged overpricing of Bs 30 million in the green areas cleaning contract, which includes sectors A and B of the city of Santa Cruz, for which reason it requests that the process be annulled.
“We have several observations about the reference price that Emacruz has established (Santa Cruz Municipal Cleaning Company) for this tender. The grass cutting and tree pruning service in the 15 districts and with the same square meters, without any change in the technical specifications, this year has been calculated with a difference of Bs 30 million”, stated Terrazas in the Influential program of THE DUTY Radio of Thursday.
Terrazas said he had sent a request for a report to Emacruz to “learn the technical argument of the referential price with this increase and if it is the same coverage and service.”
In this regard, Andrea Hoyos, manager of emacruzexplained that, per square meter, increased Bs 0.40 to cover the operating costs of the winning company, which will only be responsible for cleaning green areas in the city of Santa Cruz. “At the beginning of 2022 the price was Bs 0.20 per square meter, the increase in the nnew tender It is because the operation is carried out independently and not charged to urban sanitation, which lowered costs”, the official justified.
When asked about the number of companies that have submitted to this process, Hoyos stated that They are five and that next week the evaluation commission will review the proposals received to see if they meet the technical and administrative requirements demanded by the Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
It is important to remember that for sector A, which includes 8 municipal districts, Bs 99 million has been budgeted, and for sector B, with 7 municipal districts, Bs 100 million has been allocated. The contract is for 5 years, that is, until 2028. March 23 is the deadline for awarding the service to a new company.
