The Council of the Judiciary formed the two short lists of candidates to fill the two vacancies that exist in the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE). The shortlist one was made up of Emilio Camacho (independent), César Rossel (PLRA) and Édgar Urbieta (ANR). While the shortlist two was made up of Myriam Cristaldo, Jorge Bogarín and Gustavo López.
With this, what they feared from the Liberal Party (PLRA) took place, that Emilio Camacho and César Rossel integrate the same shortlist, considering that they are two of the best scores and only one can be elected by shortlist.
The idea of the PLRA was that Rossel be elected by his party while Camacho is elected as representative of the third space. The fear that also existed was that the Chartist candidate Myriam Cristaldo would join a shortlist where the best candidates were not.
It should be remembered that there are three members of the TSJE. The one who will continue in office is Jaime Bestard who represents the ANR (Chartism), while the other two seats corresponded to the PLRA and the last one to the third space. With this, Chartism can have a majority in the event that the Senate ends up choosing Cristaldo.
