Francisco Diaz, captain of Atlas Air and president of the Council of Captains, Eríc Rodríguez, captain of Jet Blue, general secretary of the Council of Captains and Michael Trim, Captain of American Airlines and treasurer of the Council of Captains, pointed out that it is necessary to strengthen the protocols international security aviation in the country at a time when the Dominican aviation sector is strengthening and expanding with new airlines.

The executives of the Council of Captains, made up of aviation experts who have stood out as professionals in the United States, indicated that they are available to the Dominican authorities to voluntarily and freely offer their time and experience to help in the development of aviation. civilian in the country.

They stated that this entity is focused on strengthening aviation education by fostering a passion for safety and efficiency in services.

“We have come from the United States to the Dominican Republic for ties of friendship with the Dominican authorities in the sector and as pilots of the diaspora, making ourselves available for whatever the authorities need,” said Francisco Diaz, president of the Council of Captains,
Díaz highlighted that the members of the Council of Captains are aviation professionals with proven experience in American aviation.

For his part, Eric Rodríguez, captain of Jet Blue, indicated that aviation continues to be a complex global industry with exceptionally high standards and that the interest of the entity is to motivate young people from Dominican neighborhoods to study aviation and reach be professionals regardless of their economic condition or last name.

“We met with the president of the Senate, with the director of the IDAC and we are going to meet with other institutions. For Michael Trim, captain of American Airlines and treasurer of the Council of Captains, he indicated that this organization is motivated to contribute to the country.

“As American airline pilots we are at the forefront of the industry. At this time, when the Dominican air transport sector is poised to grow exponentially, there is a need to ensure that the existing regulatory infrastructure has been developed to meet its obligations to the Dominican public to ensure operational safety, now on a much larger scale. than previously required. Unless that trust can be guaranteed, it will severely affect the country’s ability to meet the security expectations of the entire industry in the international forum and will have an impact on Dominican aviation.
