Israel Alcócer, president of the Municipal Council, announced that this body legislature joins the indefinite strike “to protect the integrity of officials and the institution.
He urged dialogue and a prompt solution, ending with a “2023 census, timely and transparent”. Alcócer stated that they are in favor of the people and their demands.
On the other hand, the president of the Council indicated that if there is an urgency or emergency, the Legislators will meet online. Likewise, he pointed out that there will be administrative officials who, in the face of an emergency, such as meeting deadlines, will work during the strike.
Alcocer made it clear that the measure corresponds only to the Cruceño Municipal Legislature and that there is independence of powers.
For his part, councilor Manuel Saavedra announced that he had sent a letter to the mayor, Jhonny Fernández, to require strict control of official vehicles that depend on the municipality so that “they are not used to attack citizens or generate violence, as happened in the August strike.” held that any irregularity that may occur will be the responsibility of the mayor.
Saavedra showed the truck that was used in violent acts during the previous 48-hour strike, which is in a Diprove parking lot, with flat tires and dirty. “It draws our attention that the Municipal Government has not even made an attempt to recover a vehiclethat it belonged to them, that it was misused and that it is in police facilities at this time,” he stated.
Although the executive has not mentioned whether or not they will abide by the indefinite strike, which the census demands in 2023, the Urban Cleaning Company, Emacruz, issued a statement asking the people at the blockade points, allow the circulation of garbage collection trucks “to guarantee the cleanliness of the city”.
“Emergencies do not wait, let the ambulances pass,” reads an art issued by the Municipal Health Secretariat.
Its manager, Adriana Amelunge, announced that the area of emergency of the 64 health centers and the five municipal hospitals of second level, during the days of unemployment, in accordance with its contingency plan, although it did not detail it.
