Council for Transparency meets with Servel: they will seek to reinforce the work agenda for upcoming electoral processes

The president of the Council for Transparency (CPLT), Francisco Leturia, together with councilors Gloria de la Fuente, Natalia González and Bernardo Navarrete, held a meeting with members of the board of directors of the Electoral Service (Servel), chaired by Andrés Tagle, to agree on coordinated actions as part of a support process that allows both organizations to collaborate with transparency in the next electoral processes.

“One of the most important assets that a country has is the integrity and transparency in its electoral processes. In Chile, up to now, we have not had any questioning of this type of process and we do not want them to ever exist. That is why we have to take all the measures and all the safeguards to be able to guarantee all Chilean men and women that the elections will always be complete, impeccable, transparent and sound. In this sense, we have been working with Servel for several months with a fairly important agenda of issues”, said the head of the CPLT.

“We are an autonomous and transparent institution and therefore when we tell Chileans that they can trust, as they have always trusted, we have decided to speed up our work agenda, which includes many issues and I hope we will have very good results,” he added.

On the other hand, the president of Servel, Andrés Tagle, stated that both councils have been working together for some time on matters of transparency in organizations, and that since the data leak incident, they have agreed to strengthen collaboration.

“Both councils had been working for some time on a very specific agenda for the transparency of organizations. And obviously, given the incident of publication of certain personal data, we have agreed to strengthen this collaboration and basically focus it on reviewing and improving our control and reporting procedures. personal data and all this with the aim of not repeating it in the future”, he concluded.
