The president of the Council for Transparency, Glory of the Sourcereferred to the new commander in chief of the Army, Javier Iturriaga del Campoand his work in the midst of the crisis that affects the Military institution with the so-called Milicogate.
In a conversation with Cooperative Radiothe authority stressed that Iturriaga “should seek closure with this stage and start a new one with a view to improving probity.”
In addition, he indicated that from the Council they seek that there is a greater delivery of data by the Army so that the cases that have been seen do not continue to occur. Also, she was critical of the feeling of impunity that the institution has, indicating that to lead a good democracy it must understand that it must be accountable.
Boric Government
De la Fuente also had words such as the future of probity in our country and the next administration led by the President-elect, Gabriel Boric.
“During the presidential elections we launched a campaign to increase transparency standards, a commitment by the second-round presidential candidates to transparency,” he said.
“The now-elected President (Boric) committed himself and signed a letter on this matter. We hope to be able to sit down with the Government, see in the constitutional change how this debate is going to take place (…) We believe that, from what we have seen Up to now, there has been a willingness on the part of the incoming authority to advance in these matters,” he added.
Finally, he expressed that there is a local and general debt with transparency at the country level, which they hope to be able to placate in the future government.
