Tragedia en Cotuí: hermanos de 13 y 15 años fallecen en la Presa de Hatillo

Hernando Alonso, Villa La Mata, Sánchez Ramírez.– A tragedy shook the community of Fantino on Saturday, after two teenage brothers died drowned in the waters of the Hatillo damwhile another young man was rescued alive by civil defense brigades.

The victims were identified as Jance Acevedo13 years, and his sister Keyla Acevedoof 15, both residents in the municipality of Fantino. Their bodies were transferred to Sigfredo Alba Hospitalwhere the legist doctor certified that they died from suffocation by drowning.

Civil Defense personnel took the bodies of the brothers to the municipal funeral home.

A survivor

The third teenager, identified as Starling Hidalgo14 years old, managed to be rescued alive by volunteers and brigades of the Civil Defense Aquatic Unit. It is in stable condition in the recovery area of ​​the health center of the Public Health Network.

The community of Fantino faces a deep pain for the loss of the Acevedo brothers

The provincial director of the Civil Defense in Sánchez Ramírez, Aníbal RodríguezHe confirmed that the rescue was possible thanks to the rapid intervention of the Socorro Brigades.

At nightfall, the relatives of the victims made the efforts for the delivery of the bodies of the Acevedo brothers, which has generated great dismay in the community of Fantino, where the three adolescents involved in the fact were from.
