The Ministry of Security of Costa Rica arrested this Sunday, July 10, two suspects of murdering five Nicaraguans on Saturday night in a house in the town of Santa Cruz, west of the province of Guanacaste.
The Vice Minister of Security, Daniel Calderón, reported that upon arriving at the scene in the community of Huacas, Santa Cruz, the police found five people dead and that the motive for the crime is under investigation by the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ). ).

The authorities carried out an operation in the area that resulted in the arrest of two suspects, both Costa Ricans, identified with the surnames Rojas Valverde, 21, and López Bolívar, 24, the latter with a history of aggravated robbery, illegal possession weapon, drug possession and assault with a knife.
Rojas does not have a criminal record, but he does register three police reports for drug possession between 2021 and 2022. The suspects were detained in a house where the officers also found an AR-15 rifle, a 40-caliber pistol and a 38-millimeter revolver.
The OIJ has identified the victims as Miguel Jarquín Cardoza, Pedro Hernández Cardoza, Isidro Orozco Loáiciga, Jonathan Cardoza Rivas and Amparo Cardoza Orozco.
The police authorities of the neighboring country to the south maintain a search operation in the area to find a third suspect in the crime.
