The Nicaraguan National Police reported this Friday on the capture by the Costa Rican authorities of the citizen Mangel Josué Calderón Calderón, accused of being one of the perpetrators of the murder of three officers and a civilian, committed in the municipality of Esquipulas, department of Matagalpa, on October 30.
According to the police institution, the suspect was detained on Thursday, November 24, by the Costa Rican Migration Police, when he was trying to enter the neighboring country to the south through a blind spot. After his arrest, the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) of that country proceeded to hand him over to the Nicaraguan authorities.
The 25-year-old suspect was handed over on Thursday night, at the Peñas Blancas border post, shared by both countries, according to the police at a press conference.

According to the police version, the officers died when they clashed with three people in a bar, including Wilfredo de Jesús Arancibia Espinoza, 31, who had allegedly committed a homicide on August 29, 2021.
Inspector Ana María Huerta Montenegro, 39, and non-commissioned officers José Eliseo González Sánchez (27) and William Javier Alvarado Tercero (30) died in the act.
Five days earlier, the Police had reported the capture of Wilfredo de Jesús Arancibia Espinoza and Ramón Antonio Argeñal Mendoza, also suspected of the murders.
In a photograph shared on social networks, it is observed that one of the three victims was wearing the uniform of the National Police, another in civilian clothes and the third does not appear in the image. The attackers fled the scene of the crime, but two of them were captured a day after the event.
