The Costa Rican soccer team defeated “In Extremis” the eleventh from Martinique in a match corresponding to group B of the Concacaf Nations League.
The Caribbeans went ahead on the scoreboard with Mickael Biron’s score at 19′ but this same player would be sent off at minute 35′, leaving Martinique with 10 men.
The Ticos tried to score but their efforts were unsuccessful and when it all seemed that it would end with a surprise result in favor of Martinique, Aaron Suárez appeared with a left-footed shot that beat the goalkeeper and declared a draw, in stoppage time at 90+1′ Anthony Contreras found himself with a shot that had hit the crossbar and from a Chilean half scored the winning goal for Costa Rica.
Panama continues to be the leader of group B with 7 points, Costa Rica has 6 points and next Tuesday, March 28, at the San José national stadium, they will meet to define who advances to the Final Four of the League of Nations, against the Panamanians with a A tie is enough for them, while for the Costa Ricans the only thing left is to win or win.
