The arrested CEO of Generation Zoe, Leonardo Cositortoimputed by repeated scams and illicit associationwill be investigated this Thursday by the Justice in the city of Goya, where 100 complaints were registered against him.
The plaintiff attorney Pablo Fleitas, who represents all the victims, told Télam that the amount of the scam being investigated in Goya -a city 230 kilometers south of the provincial capital- exceeds $190,000 and that “complaints continue to be added.”
Fleitas specified that Cositorto, accused of defrauding savers through the system known as Ponzi or pyramid schemes, will have two hearings in the Oral Criminal Court of Goya.
“At the first indictment hearing, Cositorto may choose to declare or not and in the second hearing of measures of coercion, before the Judge of Guarantees, preventive detention will be confirmed or not”, explained the lawyer.
In Goya, the regional managers of Generación Zoe remain detained: Lucas Nicolás Camelino and the brothers Nicolás and Javier Medina.
Fleitas explained that the CEO of Generación Zoe weighs 100 complaints, 75 complaints “and 40 more complaints will be added in the week.”
“The cause in Corrientes is much bigger than that of Córdoba”assured the representative of the complaint in statements to Télam.
Regarding his clients, he explained that the damage was done “through the delivery of cash (pesos or dollars), transfers to accounts or delivery of personal property, such as cars or motorcycles.”
“There are people who gave them their life savings or severance pay”mentioned and made special reference to the workers of the tobacco company Massalin Particulares, which closed its doors in Goya in 2019.
In this regard, he pointed out that “perhaps one of the most shocking cases is that of a worker over 50 years of age who lost his arm operating a machine in a company and was compensated US$40,000, which he handed over in full to the signature of Cositorto”.
