The president, Laurentino Cortizo inaugurated this Friday morning, a new headquarters of the National Association of Cattlemen (Anagan), in Ancón, an event that he took the opportunity to announce that the hams that will be delivered at Christmas will be from purely national producers.

He added that “the hams that will be being delivered to people in the country, humble people, like last year are Panamanian pork hams, supporting our producers, since for many years production was brought from abroad.”

A few months ago, the Government announced that for the end of the year festivities it is planned to deliver an approximate of 1,300,000 pieces of hams and other Christmas products.

The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA), maintains the shipping companies suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so the delivery of these hams and other items will be distributed as was done in 2020, free of charge, through the Panama Solidario program and the Community Boards.
