The Corripio Inc. Foundation delivered tonight the Corripio Foundation Awards, highlighting the invaluable contribution of figures and institutions to the cultural and social development of the Dominican Republic.
Corripio Foundation begins the 2024 Corripio Foundation Awards ceremony
The ceremony took place in the Carlos Piantini Room of the Eduardo Brito National Theaterwith the presence of influential personalities, relatives of the winners and executives of the Corripio Group.
The 2024 winners
In this edition, the Corripio Foundation recognized four outstanding personalities and one institution, rewarding their career and contributions in different areas:
Manuel Antonio García Arévalo – Social and Legal Sciences (Anthropology): for his research work in archeology and anthropology, documented in books, essays and articles. Also for his studies on Spanish migration and its cultural impact, as well as his teaching and informative work in national and international institutions.
Dr. Pedro Pablo Paredes Vallejo – Natural and Health Sciences (Psychiatry): for his outstanding career in university teaching, research in neuropsychopharmacology and scientific publications on obsessive-compulsive disorders.
Guillermo Cordero – Art (Theatre – Direction): for his excellence as a theater producer and director, developing works of great artistic and cultural impact on national stages.
Carmen Heredia de Guerrero – Communication (Cultural Journalism): for his extensive journalistic work, with analysis and comments that have promoted the work of Dominican artists at the national and international level.
Ignatian Youth Center – Corripio Alonso Family Award: for its mission to support the comprehensive development of young people in vulnerable communities, fostering Christian values and promoting social leadership.
Final sentence
Manuel Antonio García Arévalo concluded the event with an emotional speech in which he thanked the members of the foundation, the institutions and judges who chose him and the other winners to receive the award.
He also highlighted that far from being an exalting award for the work carried out, the recognition constitutes an incentive to continue without fainting, making the path by walking.
