The Provincial Directorate of Energy of Corrientes increased the value of the service by up to 67% in the first half of the year and “it is the highest rate in the NEA,” warned Senator Martín Barrionuevo (PJ-FdT) on Thursday.
The provincial legislator pointed out that the increase “was arranged by decree of Governor Gustavo Valdés” and in statements to Radio Dos he questioned that the measure “seeks to confuse people and so that they believe that the increase is due to the removal of subsidies from the national government.” .
“The Governor by decree ordered an increase of up to 67% until July, for all income levels and for all consumption, which has already begun to be applied and nobody knows because it was not reported”he pointed.
In Corrientes, keep quiet so that no one finds out, they have already applied an increase of up to 67% in the DPEC bill.
This increase has nothing to do with segmentation at the National Level.

He added that the increase “is due to the costs of the Provincial Energy Directorate (DPEC) and its inefficiency, which leads us to have the highest rates in the region.”
Next, Barrionuevo pointed out that the increase in the electricity bill, “has already begun to be applied and nobody knows about it, it is very high and it was not reported because the consumer’s rights are not considered.”
“Valdés spoke only of segmentation. What is sought is that people receive the bills and believe that it has to do with segmentation, which has not yet been applied in Argentina,” said the legislator in dialogue with Télam.
Regarding the causes, he considered that “It has to do with the cost of the provincial company, as it was last year that there were no increases in the value of energy and in Corrientes the rates increased by 55%”.
“The DPEC receives all the resources from the Yacyretá royalties to pay less for energy, but we Corrientes pay the most expensive energy,” concluded Senator Barrionuevo in statements to the press.
Finally, in a comparative table that he spread on his networks, the accountant and legislator detailed that the amounts according to a monthly consumption of 300 Kw from the provinces of Corrientes, Misiones, Chaco and Formosa, which places Corrientes with the highest rate from the NE region.
