The project for the construction of green corridor for the Seventh race in Bogotá lives. This was confirmed by the mayor Claudia López, who also clarified whether or not the tram will be built through this route.

“Here there is going to be electric transport but not a tram because it has a very small capacity of less than half of what should be transported in this road corridor. We explained to the National Government that, as the President wants, the railway network will be recovered as public transport, but on the ninth. That is the Regiotram of the North”, said the Mayor of the city about the recent meeting she had with the Minister of Transportation.
The project contemplates electric buses, stations, lanes for vehicles, pedestrian areas, bicycle paths and bicycle parking lots, green areas and connection with two aerial cables. It is estimated that its cost would be around 2.7 billion pesos, resources that the District will contribute entirely.

According to projections, the tender for its construction would come out between December and next January. In the co-creation process they received more than 50,000 proposals, and in forums and workshops, contributions from 2,641 people.
The District has already advanced the phase of studies and designs for the planning of the 22 kilometers that this green corridor would have for the traditional seventh race.
According to the designs, it would have exclusive TransMilenio lanes, squares and sustainable and environmentally friendly spaces for the enjoyment of citizens.

The Green Corridor will go from Calle 26 to Calle 200 and will be made up of three main structures: center sectionwhere a large part of Bogotá’s economy and tourism will move; Chapinero sectionwhere pedestrians will be able to move in a priority and comfortable way and, Usaquén sectionwhich will improve connection and transportation at 184th Street.
Four lanes, platforms and a 100% electric public transport service will improve and transform mobility in what is now known as the seventh race.
