Correios places 21 properties for sale in 11 states

Correios started this Thursday (12) the first auction of its own properties. The initial offer covers 21 properties for immediate sale, located in 11 states: Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo. Auctions of properties classified as idle by the company are part of the first stage of Correios’ financial restructuring plan.Correios places 21 properties for sale in 11 states

In a note, the state-owned company clarified that the sales of idle properties “do not have any impact on the provision of services to the population.”

In total, the company’s infrastructure across the country has more than 10,350 service units, including its own agencies and other partnership service points. There are also 1,100 distribution and processing units, which are logistics centers where orders and letters are processed after posting and before final delivery.

Strategy

The state-owned company’s management estimates that the auctions will reduce maintenance costs for idle properties and raise up to R$1.5 billion for investment in the company itself.

The company is preparing, for this first half of the year, the sale of other idle assets located in several states.

Auctions

Correios selected land, administrative buildings, old operational complexes, warehouses, stores and functional apartments for public auctions. In some cases, part of the property or land may be occupied by third parties and the vacancy will be at the expense of the future buyer.

The state-owned company clarifies that the auctions are 100% digital and are open to individuals and legal entities. The auctions will take place at 2pm on February 26th, Brasília time.

The initial bids for the properties auctioned range from R$19,000 to R$11 million, which should allow access for investors with different profiles, say Correios.

The auctions will be carried out using successive bids. This means that if there are no bids at the initial price, the price will be reduced immediately during the event.

According to the notice, the successful bidder will have up to 60 days to pay.

Citizens interested in participating must register on the auction company. Once the registration is approved, simply qualify for the respective auction on the platform.

Information

Information about the auctions, including public notices, detailed description of lots with photos, participation conditions and updated schedule, is available at postal website and on the auction company’s website, the VIP Auctions.

On both websites, interested parties can search for properties by type, location, price range and auction date.

For more information, opening hours can be made via Whatsapp (11 3777-5942), from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and by email: [email protected].

Crisis

Correios identified a structural deficit of more than R$4 billion annually, negative equity of R$10.4 billion and accumulated losses of R$6.057 billion until September 2025, in addition to the sharp drop in quality and liquidity indicators. Total data for 2025 has not yet been consolidated.

In December, Correios announced the raising R$12 billion in credit to fund the actions of the restructuring plan aimed at emergency stabilization of the company.

As part of this same financial restructuring plan, Correios also announced the closing of a thousand branches and a Voluntary Dismissal Plan with the expectation of up to 15 thousand employees joining.
