Corpse of Venezuelan woman appears on Florida beach

The lifeless body of Venezuelan Everliz Valentina Vega Medina, 24, appeared off the shore of Longboat Key on the west coast of Florida, after she disappeared last Saturday while swimming with a friend in South Lido Beach.

The information was confirmed by the Sarasota police who rescued the Venezuelan’s body on Sunday and indicated on their Twitter account @SarasotaPD that there are no indications that it was a violent death, but rather an accident and that they are investigating what happened.

The Sarasota police report indicates that the young Venezuelan went swimming with a friend on Saturday between 7:30 and 8:00 at night. Her friend returned to shore, but Everliz did not.

Starting at 10:00 on Saturday night, the search for the Venezuelan woman began in which “multiple law enforcement agencies participated, including marine and diving teams from the Sarasota Police Department, the Fish and Florida Wildlife and United States Coast Guard,” explains one of the Sarasota police tweets.

Everliz’s lifeless body appears on Sunday night and the Saratosa police report it on Monday morning through his Twitter account.

“We have a heartbreaking update to share this morning. The body of Everliz Valentina Vega Medina, 24, from Venezuela, was recovered off the coast of Longboat Key just before 9 p.m. Sunday. Her family has been notified.”
