The first corporal of the National Army, identified as Andrés Fernando Rojas, was sheltered with an insurance measure and sent to prison, when accused of committing the crimes of embezzled for appropriation and manufacture, trafficking and possession of arms and ammunition for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, reported the Attorney General’s Office.

The non-commissioned officer would have participated in the theft of four rifles, which were extracted from the Special Energy and Road Battalion number 5, located in the municipality of El Bagre in Bajo Cauca, Antioquia.
In this case, the serious events that occurred were assumed by a prosecutor from the Unit for Crimes against the Public Administration of the Antioquia Section who carries out the different judicial tasks to obtain prompt results in the course of the investigations.
The theft of the weapons would have been committed on June 16 and 17 of this year. Two of the rifles were seized on June 22, 2022, by units of the National Police during an inspection of a private vehicle at a toll booth in the city of Neiva in the department of Huila.
Regarding the whereabouts of the other two firearms, According to the investigations carried out, it appears that they were sold on the black market for approximately seven million pesos.
Corporal Andrés Fernando Rojas, who did not accept the charges, was captured by members of the Technical Investigation Corps with the support of the National Army at the facilities of the XVII Brigadelocated in the municipality of Carepa in Urabá, Antioquia, specified the Attorney General’s Office.
