Santo Domingo.-The National Police agent who in February 2023 caused the death of the child was sentenced to 15 years in prison this Thursday Donelly Joel Martinezduring an incident with his father that occurred during the carnival celebration in the city of Santiago (north).
Judges sentenced Corporal Alejandro Castro, 30, accused of causing the death of Donelly, 9, who died from gunshot wounds on February 12, 2023.
The tragic event occurred when the minor was on Las Carreras Avenue at the corner of Mella Street in Santiago with his father and other friends, when a police patrol approached them because they were playing loud music, and an argument broke out that ended in a scuffle.
