Regarding the coronavirus, the health portfolio indicated that, between September 4 and 10, 1,660 new infections were registered in 16,356. This meant that the positivity rate (percentage of tests that were positive out of the total number of tests applied) was 10.2%. At the close of the report (Saturday, September 10) the number of active cases (people with the disease) was 1,515.
On the other hand, in the indicated period there were a total of six deaths of people infected with this disease. Since the first was registered on March 13, 2020, so far 7,462 deaths have died from this disease in Uruguay.
In turn, the percentage of beds in intensive care centers (CTI) occupied was 61.8%. However, only 2.7% correspond to coronavirus patients.
On the other hand, with respect to monkeypox, the MSP reported data that does not reflect a major difference. As of September 12, the number of confirmed cases in the country remained at five. On the other hand, there is a suspicious case and another 51 have already been ruled out.
