Coronavirus in Uruguay: seven deaths, 1,647 new cases and 65 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Tuesday 1,647 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 11,164 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 14.7%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).

What’s more, there were seven deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 81 and 101 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,110 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 9,474 active cases across the country and 65 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 234 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 1,647 new cases, 713 were from Montevideo, 244 from Canelones, 94 from Colonia, 90 from Maldonado, 65 from Cerro Largo, 52 from San José, 47 from Florida, 45 from Artigas, 43 from Rivera, 36 from Lavalleja, 35 from Salto, 31 from Soriano, 31 from Tacuarembó, 26 from Rocha, 24 from Paysandú, 24 from Treinta y Tres, 23 from Durazno, 14 from Flores and 10 from Río Negro.

Montevideo leads in number of assets with 42.08. follow him cannelloni (1,422), Cologne (625) and Maldonado (399), among others.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed nine cases from the active list.
