Uruguay registered this Thursday 9,590 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 23,944 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 40%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (PCR and antigens).
What’s more, there were 21 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 49 and 99 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,389 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 73,275 active cases across the country and 128 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 1,088 correspond to the health personnel.
Of the 9,590 new cases, 4,611 were from Montevideo, 1,205 from Canelones, 462 from Maldonado, 318 from Tacuarembó, 292 from Cerro Largo, 251 from Salto, 249 from Soriano, 237 from Durazno, 232 from Lavalleja, 230 from Paysandú, 228 from Rivera, 225 from San José, 202 from Rocha, 184 from Colonia, 183 from Artigas, 163 from Florida, 122 from Treinta y Tres, 114 from Río Negro and 82 from Flores.
All departments report infected people this Thursday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 34,637. follow him cannelloni (9,110), Maldonado (4,667) and Rivera (2,681), among others.
For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed 24 cases from the active list.
