Coronavirus in Uruguay: 315 new cases, one death and 14 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Wednesday 315 new cases of coronavirus out of a total of 9,984 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 3.1% although duplicate tests are also included in some people.

What’s more, there was a death linked to covid-19, in the last 24 hours; It was a 74-year-old person from Montevideo. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,147 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 2,407 active cases across the country and 14 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total of positive cases, 46 correspond to health personnel.

Of the 315 new cases, 112 were from Montevideo, 48 from Canelones, 32 from Rocha, 26 from Maldonado, 18 from Cerro Largo, 13 from Paysandú, 12 from Colonia, 11 from Salto, 10 from Florida, nine from Lavalleja, eight from Tacuarembó, five from Río Negro, four from Treinta y Tres, three from Flores, two from Artigas and two from Soriano.

All departments report infected people this Wednesday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 815. It is followed by cannelloni (412), Maldonado (235) and Rocha (165), among others.
