Uruguay registered this Friday 315 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,611 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 2.9%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people.
What’s more, there was one death related to covid-19, in the last 24 hours; It was a 79-year-old woman who was suffering from the disease in Cerro Largo.
For its part, Lavalleja went to the red risk level in the Harvard index, which calculates the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The Department, that applied restriction measures in the last hours, has 25.8 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. On Monday, Lavalleja had gone to risk orange.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 6,077 deaths have been diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 2,162 active cases across the country and 21 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 103 correspond to health personnel.
All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads the list of assets with 1,071. They are followed by Canelones (435), Colonia (119), Lavalleja (116) and Maldonado (100), among others.
Of the 315 new cases, 132 were from Montevideo, 55 from Canelones, 23 from Lavalleja, 20 from Tacuarembó, 18 from Florida, 17 from Colonia, 13 from Cerro Largo, nine from Maldonado, seven from Paysandú, seven from Rocha, six from Soriano, three from Rivera, two from Artigas, one from Salto, one from San José and one from Treinta y Tres.
