Coronavirus in Uruguay: 27 deaths, 10,618 new cases and 154 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Wednesday 10,618 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 28,115 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 37.7%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).

What’s more, there were 27 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 52 and 94 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,540 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 66,727 active cases across the country and 154 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 1,149 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 10,618 new cases, 4,730 were from Montevideo, 1,378 from Canelones, 536 from Tacuarembó, 508 from Maldonado, 346 from San José, 309 from Soriano, 303 from Paysandú, 285 from Cerro Largo, 285 from Colonia, 255 from Salto, 240 from Durazno, 232 from Rivera, 226 from Florida, 210 from Río Negro, 187 from Lavalleja, 175 from Rocha, 171 from Treinta y Tres, 142 from Artigas and 100 from Flores.

All departments report infected people this Wednesday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 31,634. follow him cannelloni (9,301), Maldonado (3,145) and Tacuarembo (2,278), among others.
