Coronavirus in Uruguay: 25 deaths, 9,239 new cases and 132 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Saturday 9,239 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 25,775 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 35.8%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).

What’s more, there were 25 deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 42 and 104 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 6,436 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 70,655 active cases across the country and 132 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 1,302 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 9,239 new cases, 4,592 were from Montevideo, 1,350 from Canelones, 427 from Maldonado, 343 from Tacuarembó, 303 from Rivera, 287 from San José, 284 from Soriano, 238 from Salto, 231 from Cerro Largo, 216 from Durazno, 194 from Colonia, 144 from Rocha, 116 from Florida, 115 from Paysandú, 92 from Lavalleja, 91 from Artigas, 81 from Treinta y Tres, 72 from Río Negro and 63 from Flores.

All departments report infected people this Saturday, and Montevideo leads the active list with 33,397. follow him cannelloni (9,294), Maldonado (4,021) and Rivera (2,393), among others.

For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed 17 cases from the active list.
