Uruguay registered this Monday 6,986 new cases of covid-19 out of 19,772 tests carried out, according to information published by the National Emergency System (Sinae). Thus, the positivity was 35.33%.
In addition, they died 20 people with a positive diagnosis of covid-19, between 67 and 95 years old. The death toll from the disease detected in Uruguay since March 13, 2020, when the health emergency was declared, reached 6,479.
Currently there 67,119 active cases and 147 are undergoing intensive treatment for the disease, two more than this Sunday. In addition, of the number of people currently infected, 1,182 belong to health personnel, according to Sinae data.
Of the 6,986 new cases, 3,344 are from Montevideo, 984 from Canelones, 379 from Paysandú, 329 from Maldonado, 195 from San José, 188 from Colonia, 174 from Salto, 163 from Río Negro, 159 from Lavalleja, 153 from Rivera, 142 from Rocha, 139 from Soriano, 139 from Tacuarembo, 113 from Artigas, 96 from Treinta y Tres, 85 from Florida, 82 from Durazno, 65 from Flores and 57 from Cerro Largo.
All departments in the country have active cases and Montevideo leads the list at the national level: there are 31,832 people infected in the capital. They are followed by Canelones (9,217), Maldonado (3,299) and, evenly matched, Tacuarembó and Rivera (2,116).
The report of this day eliminated two cases from the active list, as reported by Sinae according to data from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP).
